Things to Consider

Action = Change

As you begin this process, take a moment to determine how much time, energy and resources you are able to commit. You don’t want to overextend yourself, so if that means just focusing on one or two charities to work with because that’s all your schedule allows, that is fine. Pick the causes and candidates that you feel passionately about at first and add more if time permits. You can also decide how much time you want to spend participating in the activity of your choice. Whether it’s five minutes a week or two hours a day, be realistic and stick with it. It’s better for you to be effective on a small scale than ineffective on a large one.

Don’t be afraid. This can apply to taking the first step and getting involved or having a conversation with someone whose political beliefs you are unsure of. We can all make a difference, you just need to be confident in your ability to make a positive impact on the world around you.

Finally, If you see something happening in your local community and think it deserves statewide attention, please get in touch. We need each other to stay smart and connected on what is happening across North Carolina.
