Raleigh | March for Science

04/22/2017 @ 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM

Details are subjected to change as we finalize the planning of the March.  Please check the web link below regularly for the latest updates!

March Itinerary

9:00 am: Begin gathering at Shaw University (Estey Hall)

10:00 am: Raleigh March for Science begins (~0.9 mile)

10:30 am to 2:00 pm: Community Science Fair (Moore Square)

12:00 to 2:00 pm: Rally at Moore Square

2:00 pm: Rally and Fair end

Please note that the City of Raleigh requires signs to be less than 3 feet by 3 feet in size, and not mounted on any poles.

Help spread the word and submit your ideas for the Community Science Fair today! This science fair is intended to facilitate engagement around science amongst Triangle community members – young and old, students and teachers, professionals and amateurs. We’re especially interested in highlighting ways science impacts people of North Carolina and science rooted in North Carolina.

Getting there

By Car
Note that due to our event and others happening on the same day, parking may be difficult, and some decks may be closed.  Please see our route map to the right for closed areas and parking options.

If you would like to drive to Downtown Raleigh for the March, there are several area public parking decks (for a fee) and some street parking (for a fee).

By Bus

We are working to provide support for attendees to share a bus from various locations in NC to travel to the March in downtown Raleigh.  Sign up using the second form on this page to show your interest in joining the bus!

Alternatively, there is public transportation.  The main bus terminal for GoRaleigh, Moore Square Station, is across the street from the end of the March, Science Fair, and Rally.  Please refer to the GoRaleigh website for information on fares, routes, and fees.
Greyhound Buslines also has a Raleigh station, but it is not near the downtown area.  There may be a GoRaleigh local bus that connects the Greyhound terminal to downtown.

By Train

Amtrak serves Raleigh though a station near Downtown Raleigh.  It is a long walk, or a short Uber/Lyft/etc, to the march.
