Raleigh | Celebrating Resistance Bonfire With Muslim Women For

October 14 @ 5:30 PM - 8:00 PM

$5.00

This year, there have been an unprecedented number of attacks on our various communities. Last year, Muslim Women For’s inaugural event showcased Muslim diversity and creativity. This year, we want to celebrate all communities that have continue to persist and resist all forms of oppression.

“Celebrating Resistance” means celebrating the aspects of identity that make us unique, resisting stereotypes and highlighting the social justice progress that many marginalized communities have made. We want this to be a time to build community, learn about the social justice initiatives in the Raleigh area and make it clear that our organization is for all people.

The mission of Muslim Women For is to foster and nurture vibrant Muslim societies that work to create positive social change and uplift their communities through service, advocacy, and spiritual growth. The name of our organization comes from the need to have a Muslim social justice organization that is spearheaded by brave women leaders. Our organization commits to social change by creating opportunities for religious discourse, community activities and social services, and cultural events bringing together literature, the arts, spirituality, and social activism.

What to expect:
-@social justice story time
-performances from various communities that continue to fight and resist oppression
-opportunities to learn and get involved in social justice work in the Triangle and beyond.
-community building
